Ok I can’t get enough of Carl and Princess Donut. Sooo much has happened and I have so many theories! This one was even more entertaining than the first one, which i didn’t think was possible!
So good!!

I thought this would be the type of book I get because I enjoy the premise but like Dresden this series transcends its gimmick and is really good in its own right. the narrator is great too. the only downside is that the swearing makes this a headphone only book.
Again an excellent story! Intense, complex, and so fun. I laughed so much in this one and loved how the crawlers worked so well together against all of the wild stuff thrown at them. The AI is getting wonky!! Jeff Hays was super again, brilliantly bringing every single character to life.
Macronimicon always produces interesting RPG systems for his characters to exploit. and exploit they do. Not an overwhelming amount of stat pages and the characters are likeable and understandable. they might be inexperienced or uneducated but they’re not stupid. I love this story, good cliffhanger, can’t wait for the 3rd book. I am excited to hear it, good voice work.
All the books have great story. Can’t wait to hear what happens next! Lots of good humor and references that make you go…. That’s about right. Can’t wait for the next book!
So, I love this series. Book 1? Incredible. Got me involved although I started reading late in the series. Book 2? Almost just as good. Kept me going. Book 3? I liked a little less. It was still fantastic but it felt like it fell off a little. Book 4? Fell off even more. Still..
Carl has a great personality. He is consistently sarcastic. Has me in stitches. I have been laughing out loud and spitting my coffee.
It’s rare that a writer gets so much right, so consistently. The story and characters in this story (and this specific book) are imaginative and engaging, while somehow still managing to feel real. The characters especially (from the main characters to the most fleeting side character) have a quality where the feel like real people…
