An excellent series in a genre I didn’t think I would enjoy as much as I have. I’m definitely hooked.
Campy, but entertaining. I’m generally not a fan of litRPG because the stories often wander aimlessly from encounter to encounter with very little character or plot development. This series does not suffer from that problem. Despite all the bad puns and cheesy jokes, the underlying story is well written and very dark. It’s a good..
This series is addictive. A rare gem in a sea of mediocrity. The combination of game, story line, and narrator is as good as it gets. The world building has a sense of realism that makes the series read like something that is actually possible. Color me impressed. The only problem I can see with..
Jeff Hayes continues to be a national treasure, bringing these hilarious books to life. an advantage to the audiobooks are the post-epilogue credits which in this book may be the best yet. I can’t wait for the next one in the series, hands down my favorite audiobook series of all time.
Loved it, however is anyone else getting an echo through most of it I don’t think it’s just dialogue but if it is it might be internal dialogue like he’s talking to himself… hence the echo
The story, plot, characters and setting are just lazy. No new ground is tread here and there are no real interesting takes on existing troupes. A very paint by numbers experience.
I’ve listened to the whole series. It has elements of a good story but misses or weakly addresses a few key aspects:-variety of personalities/perspective-actual failures when meeting obstacles-sexual maturity-confrontations of unresolvable values all in all, I probably will think little of the series.
