I absolute love this series and I am sad that I have just finished listening and the next book has not been released yet, god dammit Donut! I made my wife listen to the first book on a drive, and now she is binge listening too, and this isn’t even her regular genre of books…
Great book, unlike others I think it’s a little weird the main character takes so long to get used to his youth. If he wanted to blend in better he would try harder, because he really doesn’t try to blend in.
Jeff Hays is great, but the story is boring and not at all funny. There’s no plot. I thought it started off ok, but it really went downhill fast. It’s just some torture fetish content.

Gotta tell you, I would have never thought this might be one of my favorite series when I first saw it. But I’m addicted to and listen non-stop while I’m driving and doing other busy work. Hope he keeps this series going for a long time.

The story is definitely unique and creative, but there’s a fair amount of straight up porn sprinkled in throughout. I’ve heard that lessens as the books progress, but it definitely didn’t ruin the overarching story for me. Overall I dug it!

Narration was great, the variety of Jeff Hays is always fantastic. Story was a great surprise, not much progression in book 1 but it still kept my attention. I’m expecting great things from Book 2. Side characters have some depth and my only gripe is some of the old man mannerisms / multiple perspectives.
