Sequels!
Review from The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook →
I RARELY like a book enough to read the sequels. Especially not immediately. I am buying book three as we speak.
Just a short review. This was the first audio book I’ve listened all the way through. Started this at a friend’s recommendation and it’s been a wonderful time with plenty of ups and downs. You really get to feel for everyone who’s drawn into the story. Plenty of great characters, lots of humor, character growth,..
Over all story isn’t that great. Dialog is pretty corny at times. They try to force feed a sob story to you during the whole book and they add way too many sound effects and background music to try to set the mood during different events. Charles Dean did a much better job with his..
I love the progression the story takes the MC through! The new game world and the connections he makes really sucker you into the feels for the life of kid from the boxes. He is still reeling from the first books ending and this one left me wanting more. Makes me wish I could play..
The book is pretty good but there are a few things that irk me:The Relationship of Ryan (Dungeon) and Erin (Fairy) is unrealistic, at times toxic and emotionally manipulative.Book would probably improve without Erin.Weird moments when they suddenly play music for fights (always same music). That said I enjoyed it and will listen to the..

The writer has CLEARLY done complex game design IRL…
Just one hit after another. I really liked the train aspect of this. And Jeff Hays is great as always (Stick around for the end credits. You won’t be disappointed).
If you loved the 1st book, then you will love this one. Brilliant story and fantastic performance from Jeff Hays (love this guy)!
I like to listen to a few books before going back and writing reviews. I just finished the 3rd book in this series and I have loved every minute of every book so far! The story is good. The characters are quirky and amazing. The character development is natural and deeper than I expected. The..
