Decent book, but not the best of the series just mid compared to the others, but not the worst.
Good voice
Review from The Eye of the Bedlam Bride →
Adair Finch is a Time- Marked Warlock. What he does is mark a certain time and is able to go back to that specific time. therefore many times he is visiting the same place multiple times to pick up the a clue. That is why I say this is similar to Groundhog Day. It’s not..
There is an art to stretching an underlying story over multiple books while making each book an interesting and engaging story unto itself. The author is failing miserably at it. This book was mostly a disjointed jumble of nonsense and minutiae. Themes such the personal feelings for the horrors the crawlers endure are repeated so..
A delightful addition, continues the story nicely and keeps the magic of story box theater alive. It’s an excellent listen.
I’ve eagerly awaited my return to The Colony and I wasn’t disappointed: worldbuilding, comdat & antics. I’m truly satisfied & I eagerly await what’s to come.
I could nit pick and complain about the use of a few words being a bit excessive and not feeling organic to the way Carl typically talks but I honestly love this series and I think the story is a lot of fun. I rarely tell strangers about the books I am listening to…with DCC..
I had heard great things about this book but specifically that you HAVE to listen to the audiobook and could almost immediately hear why! Everything about this is hilariously perfect!
The whole thing is not for me. The narrator is very talented, but doing a Patrick Warburton voice for 14 hours got old. Did not like the LitTPG format, and the story is pretty repetitive.
