Awesome, hilarious, entertaining, self-deprecating as we all should be at times, driven, and I frankly love that it isn’t always the “cleaned up” text that might be expected from an edited novel, short, etc.. – the guy is just getting the thoughts on the page and nailing the narrator’s voice.
There’s so much ground work laid to create this character, the heating of metal so it can be pounded into the shape that is needed. The word tempered comes to mind, our character is indomitable, just when you think ‘this is it’ , the author piles on more and more.This is not a fairy tale,..

I had doubts about this book. after reading the reviews I was still on the fence, but the fact that Jeff Hays and Annie Elicott were the narrators pushed me over the edge. Jeff is my favorite narrator and imo this was one of his best performances. The MC in this story was very likeable..
