I wanted to enjoy this story, but from the unrealistic payouts of a digital game to the fabricated sexually charged relationship with purely virtual entities, I found it to be highly unsatisfying. Also, the sound effects often detracted from the enjoyment of the story rather than enhancing it.
much like real life the author keeps the story to the characters connections not the game. the friendships forged over a mutual activity is more important than the rise of an antagonist. many people have a problem with this but I must say it fits the genre beautifully.
Despite Mr. 2 Star and his lengthy review this is not a Ready Player One copy. And his comparison of the stacks to the boxes is like comparing a run down trailer park with no oversight to government built tenement buildings. He does make some good points in that the book could be more crunchy..

I’d tell you what I like about the book, but it have spoilers. this is excellently narrated.
I am read this entire Story from beginning to end on Royal Road when it ended was one of the saddest moments I can remember this first book made me laugh so hard and while I normally don’t like evil characters he’s just chaotic enough to make it all worth it I look forward to..

I’ve missed these books…..this one was another great installment to the series. I love the sound effects and the music that accompanies the tense scenes. Can’t wait for the next one.

Just finished book 4 and it is a ride. The scope of the Ivalis universe is massive and there are a ton of creatures, cultures, deities, history that enrich the adventures of Dungeon Lord Edward Wright. I read alot of litrpg and I don’t like when the character sheet becomes too overboding and it feels..
