I came into this expecting another risque lit rpg, the likes of RE Life, Wraith’s Haunt, or the like. But what I got was an immediate dive into heavy jargon, point blank fetish fuel, and a main character who just feels like too much of a blank slate / author insert for me to shake..

Drags on and on, continues the protagonist slow descent into convenient insanity, which is to say you definitely see when he’s crazy, but it’s weird that he’s not crazy more often.

Definitely a LitRPG. Lots of stat sheets throughout, which is a bit tedious to listen to. A boring start, but things picked up about 60% through the book. 1 torture section which I didn’t like. I really enjoyed the performance of the audio recording, and thought that it added a ton of depth to the story and made the characters instantly recognisable. As a conclusion to what I assume was the first arc it was very good.

The reason I started this series is I like goblins swords and sorcery however the sci-fi elements make all of those aspects meaningless. The ending to this book basically makes all the progression of Orens Goblin character development meaningless and all his relationships. Nothing too groundbreaking but a good story and overall audio. there are two spots where the added effects cover over the audio but both pass quickly.
