There is a story plot, but it is fairly uninspired until the end. There is very little to the characters, they are very flat, and Orrin sees little development. The performance is great as always, but the story itself is a poor showing. Hopefully the next one will be better.
This is a really a different take on the genre and i have read many. The narrators Jeff Hays, Annie Ellicott, Justin Thomas James, Anneliese Rennie did an amazing job!!!! Soundbooth did an awesome job producing the book. The only gripe i had is the battle music, the drum is way too loud or it..
To bad I can’t recommend this to young adults or some of my more conservative friends. I enjoyed the book but why cut yourself off to a larger market. Might as well go soft porn to attract that group. Go all in or leave it alone. just my two cents.
I was expecting so much more if your have read other lirpg like the land or viridian and liked those this aint for you. I will say it had some great moments and for some it may be a great fit.

This one was less of a LitRPG adventure and more of a mystery/thriller with a little magic and fairly small nod to the RPG aspects of the previous book. It was entertaining and interesting but much more of a self-contained story than any kind of epic or adventurous tale. Justin Thomas James was the same..
Very nice story. A bit odd and somewhat plodding at first, but it picks up quickly and keeps going. I like that! Character development is pretty good with this. An enjoyable read. I think I’ll pick up the next one.
