Good story and narration. The author should cool it on the homophobia. The shame is that it’s done as an afterthought. There is no reason to continue to hurt people. Isn’t that done enough?

When gods play games mortals always suffer. The world and the mortals matter little as no matter the race the gods don’t care. We are nothing more to them than pieces on a board. In this case the gods have champions that come from other worlds to effect changes in their worlds. Souls are traded..
Kinda like .hack//sign, but with the twist that the main character is a mob, and do gar the AI isn’t what trapped him there, but a series of unfortunate events. The audio affects were never over done, and the narration was high quality. Fun, but system messages can get annoying.
I can’t believe one of the main gripes I’ve had was finally dealt with,of all the audio books I’ve come across this is first to have music and sound effects through out the whole book and greatly exchange the story with it
Performance was awesome. Story was a bit slow. It doesn’t grab me. I like it but… I will probably buy the next one hoping for it to do better.
The book was great and so was the narration. I felt times I wanted to laugh and times I wanted to cry. it is a relatively short audiobook as well, and yet seemed so full I thought it felt twice as long.
Lucas is kinda…boring. there is a lack of focus on any one thing, though there are passable attempts at leveling and character mechanics. I didnt find there to be a real antagonist, and most of the characters were pretty forgettable. not bad, just not great. soundbooth theatre is always top tier though. 10/10 narrator.
Very cool idea. If you have played and MMORPG then you can get right into the story. Well written. Couldn’t put it down and got really invested in the world and story. Narrator is new to me but kept me engaged and had good character voices.
