This book had a semi good story. There were parts of the story I just wanted to know more. I also though the book just ended.
This was the worst of the four books. The only good things I can say for it is that there were a few unique (though dull) characters, it didn’t rely entirely on pop culture references like many other LitRPG, and it didn’t devolve into a harem porno like many LitRPG. What I didn’t like would..
The main thing I didn’t like about this book and the series as a whole is the plot holes and the “real” world part of the story. The main pros for this book is that the writing isn’t bad, and the in game story was more engaging in this book than the rest of the..
Seriously. It’s like they didn’t even bother listening to their product, because the whole book sounds like it was read through twenty feet of pipe with the mic gain turned to max. That aside, the story was satisfying in its own right, and character development and plot twists were adequate.
Prepare for irritating Dramatic Music that sounds like it was pulled straight from the game Plague Inc., and even more unnecessary sound effects. If you can handle these added annoyances, it’s still the same story, and anyone that says differently didn’t bother to listen past the intro.
This series is better than most LitRPGs I’ve found so far, but I still wouldn’t say it’s great. Some things I liked about this book and the series as a whole are the unique characters, low sexual content (I want an RPG fantasy book, not a sexual fantasy book!) and decent game world. What I..
I’ll start by saying that I’ve listened to far worse LitRPG books. While I did not think this series was great, it is in the better half of it’s genre. The in game part of this book (and the rest of the series) isn’t bad, but the real world parts are a waste of time…
great book keeps you entertained and wanting more the ending i didnt see coming cant wait for book 2
So I don’t know why but around chapter 22 the background music and effects got really noticeable to me. I’m not sure if the whole book had/has background music and effects or not. Maybe it’s only in that chapter during a fight. Either way it was really distracting for me. The narration and story are..
Superb narration (I’ll listen to anything with Andrea parsneau narrating in it.) Story was okay, decent characters, but no overall story arc. Note: whomever decided to throw random midi music behind narration at times should be sacked. Drove me crazy trying to listen to the book with looping music behind it.
