this series has had me hooked from book one. as this but continues on I find myself more enthralled with it. I’ve grown accustomed to Augustus and it found Sympathy For What the God has gone through. the twist and turn to the end have me wanting more hope there is a book 5.
it’s nice to see the story take a turn after the first book, but it’s a little bit of a slow start following the pace of the 1st in the series, it sets up the next book well but still felt a little lacking in terms of development and action for me.

While I understand that the world and time period depicted in the book are complete works of fiction, the use of words like “cool”, “crazy”, “slut”, and worst of all “as-if” stick out like a sore thumb and make the story feel far more juvenile than it should be. This is compounded by the narrators..
The story is very fun type of RPG storytelling, the issue ladies more so not with the story or the book itself but the way the book is being read. It is not the voice of the reader, but the volume in puts which made it very drastically hard to listen to in a car..

while the story was well written it was pretty predictable, much like any liner video game. The author left several holes in the story and let Lucus seize omnipotence pretty easily. I can only wonder what happened to the devs, what’s going to happen to our hero after the entrapment. Is this going to follow..

…and enjoy a good fantasy LitRPG, you will love this book. I now want to start a Dnd campaign and introduce the main characters as NPCs and see what transpires. I can’t wait for the next book!
