Oof. It’s just so bad. Have you ever wanted to insert yourself into a simps role play fantasy and listen to basic game mechanics explained to you? Then this is the book for you! Listen to a mean fairy mistreat a dead guy while the discuss how an RPG works.
very short. not just overall read time but it felt like i just started it and poof, done. i Really like the story and the production with multiple narrators but it would be nice if the author would put a bit more into it. it honestly felt like this was just a chapter or two..
I really thought the last book ended the series. Happy to find out I was wrong. For the litrpg genre this is gold. great stuff.
The concept of the story is fine, it’s just the execution gets more and more silly.. it’s like the author gave up on a game world and just pulled whatever lint came out of his pockets and said “eh, fight this next round”.
The story evolves outside of the “game” the idea that AI takes over and essentially has to be defeated on its own playing ground is something outside the genre and adds a touch more sci-fi to the series. Where most LitRPG I have seen is some mystical gods using games this has a touch more..
The second book was just as good as the last one and Jeff hays could read the the phone book and I would listen to his every word
this is one of the best series on audible and I’m looking forward to reading the next one as well as any spin off books
