In addition to the fact that he spends half the book effectively brainwashed, he also becomes a moron, both incapable of doing a cost benefit analysis and forgetting the most basic rules of engagement. The stuff happening in the “real world” is just boring and nonsensical.
The LitRPG traits are weird, not understandable and out of balance. Overall a fairly interesting game world, and a fun story. There is a lot of focus on town building. Many of the characters are interesting. I think this could end up being a fun series. There were a couple issues i had with the story, towards the end there was a bit of a tone..
The character development was amazing and he kept me on the edge of my seat every step of the way. It was like i was right there with Oren through all the battles. He even made me cry. 5? all day long. Can’t wait to see whats next in book 5.
