The MC was weak of mind and contemplates things at the most inappropriate times. This book is a short story told in detail over 12 hours.

This just cracked my top 10. Just be warned there is no book 2 that and not sure if there will be.
The thought of an inanimate object gaining sentience and how it worked through it’s own growth process is right on track with how you might think it would happen. Many surprises along the way lead to many more.
