This book has everything I liked about The Land: Chaos Seeds series without everything I disliked. Like The Land this book has the borderline addicting settlement/kingdom building mechanics. The author does an excellent job delivering meaningful progressions that create a feeling of excitement as the main character gains more power and the settlement gets stronger…
in this series felix camble starts out as a fast food worker in his 30s who buys what he thinks is bismuth but turns out to be a mutilated and tortured hero slave and then his adventures navigating his new life as a slave owner of several female slaves
love the book and the background of each character i personally cannot wait to read the others.

The Eaton is the debut novel and my first read from author John K. Addis. In reading the “blurb” I’d anticipated a mystery/suspense read. Think a young Stephen King! 10-hours 57-minute/421-pages of edge-of-your-seat/can’t-turn-the-page-fast-enough suspense. I raced through the first four books of this series, and I eagerly await the fifth.
First, great performances from the crew, not the problem here. My problem is, who would want to play this game? I know it sounds pedantic but as a person who loved the first book and liked the second book because of the immersing characters and world that seemed rather inviting, this one killed a lot..

The random floors were not very good. It got old really quick. I had to struggle to keep my attention because it was just one random lame thing after another to just insta-killed the boss by uber sword. I don’t find hearing about a floor type for 30 min for it to then be cleared..
