What a fun read. After getting the 1st chapter 2 it really starts to pick up by the end of the story I can’t wait to listen to the next one.
If you like Jamie’s Ex Heroes, and Ex Gods series you will find this expansion into that universe well worth the listen. I do not want to offer up any spoilers but I recommend reading this prior to Ex Heroes 6 (not that you have to), but you will really enjoy the cross over elements.

Easy to listen. Superbly performed voice acting. Realistic hero who recognizes his faults. Cried when Runner thought he and everyone were going to die and said goodbye to Schrit. Such compassion.

First 6 hours is mostly flirting and rebuffs to advances. Anyone into romance dramas may enjoy it but had an odd moment that changed the main character in a odd fashion. The gamelit elements were very secondary. The narration is amazing. It starts to pick up story pace once other characters get involved.
i read a lot of books, and I don’t generally rate overall book below 4 stars. i also try to not drop out of any book i pick up, especially if it’s legible and forms complete sentences and thoughts, but this is torture.almost halfway through the book and I’m so bored and disappointed. pros:narrationhad potentialan..
