this is a wonderful introduction into a series that I am starting my third run through. I really enjoy the world, the magic system, and the dark/dry sense of gallows humor that Henry often employs throughout all 3 books so far. the bathtub at the jaguar clan house still makes me laugh.
The story lives up to the first book, amazing characters and world.Earlier in the book there a part where two lines run at once, later near on some long pauses and near the end an audio gap.

The plot thickens! I’m loving the direction this series is going. Jade is a lot of fun for a new character, too. The addition of Annie Elliott enhances the performance of this reading.
I was not sure I would like this book as I started listening. It’s a litrpg, and they all have a necessary amount of exposition to slug through before the real gaming experience starts.
