Another series ruined because someone thought it was a great idea to put cheap distracting sound effects in the background of the narration. Also, probably because of the sound effects, the narrator sounded more like a amateur gold announcer.

Well written and well read, but not to my taste. While some may enjoy heroic antagonist stories, I prefer more traditional stories.

Good stuff. Great adaptation of sound effects. Good fan service. Lots of violence. Good enough story. 9/10 would read again

Loved the whole thing, wanted to immediately buy the next book in the series, but apparently it is not out yet. Please Mr Terzini, do hurry up 🙂

Really enjoyed this book and hope the writer continues the story. Looks like book 2 has been on hiatus for a quite a while.. =(

this book grabbed me, sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down. finished it in less than 24 hours which brings me to the only bad part about the book… I want more.

Look the beginning is great. The concept of a mimic with an IQ of 10 attempting to figure out growth in life is fantastic. But it gets stale towards the end. The mimic becomes too powerful, gets overtly sexy minions, and that’s it. There’s no plot or cunning characters to keep the story going.

“Snot Klap”, “no bra”, “chinas”this shows research into South Africa and I got to love it! (Local Slang)Pity the narrator did not do a bit of research. “Groot skrik” was not recognizable and I had to rewind and listen again till I got it. Enjoyed the book to about halfway through where the book turned..

This particular title has far too much profanity for my taste. So much so that I got In the way of the story. From a fantasy perspective, some of the characters were pretty amazing and the scenes were very interesting. Returning the book after I finish this review.

This book was so damn good. I just didn’t like how the main character was hesitant at the end. It said book 1 so now I am waiting for book 2 and will definitely buy it when it is out.
