Story was very predictable and followed along classic tropes. The whole litrpg thing was very heavy-handed.
great book if you need to do something mindless or illogical, you will feel right at home. the MC here was raised in isolation fed clothed educated to be a repair man just so they can execute him when he turns 21. There is never even an attempt to explain this nonsensical logic. it is..
excellent narration, solid writing, but kind of plotless. No character development, some brief teasers about some interesting story developments coming in future books, but the whole book is basically some woman playing a video game. Not much different than watching your kid play xbox.
This was only the second series I’ve read in this genre. And it was worth the time it took to read. I look forward to the next installment to come out on audio!
I may be cold hearted (I’m not) but the main negative review which references a child’s death seems over stated. I actually didn’t buy the book for MONTHS because I took that review seriously. I didn’t want depressing. However, I love Jeff Hays and soundbooth so I eventually gave in. Maybe it’s because I fully..
This book was an absolutely amazing time killer whenever I found myself needing to get lost in a fantasy world. The main character is likable while at the same time you begin to see his many flaws. Now I’m not professional critic but I did thoroughly enjoy this book especially on long car trips to..
I’m currently halfway through chapter 10, so not even a third of the way through the story. And I’m fed up with how the MC, who’s been made out to be a top-tier gamer, is such an IDIOT. This is the second battle he’s just STOOD THERE and taken damage without fighting back with his..
its pervy, its funny, its a little slow, but I love this book. the main character antics just make this book worth ever penny
I love jeff hays he is a amazing narrator in my opinon but even he couldnt make me enjoy this book. I really gave this book a chance and listened to it because I usually don’t like people who give there opinion after one hour of listening, but it was a struggle to get through..
i loved it. i enjoy the fact that i can see the world the author is describing. the narrator did a tremendous job as well
