A good book with a few rough unpolished edges. The good parts: original plot, fleshed-out characters, character development, show instead of tell, all the right stuff. The bad parts: no explanation for the Chekhov’s Gun of the main character ability; Deus Ex Machina in the end; unbelievably boring, repeating time after time after time “listings”..

I had to check to see if there were two readers because the difference in the voices of the female and male characters were so very different. I will definitely look for more books read by Jeff Hays. Additionally, I loved the story and have already purchased the next book.
The story is good enough to get my attention and may be good enough to purchase the next book. I feel like I am listening to someone playing dungeons and dragons. I am mostly annoyed with the person reading, his choice to randomly throw in echos when people speak is the most annoying.

A great tale of being stabbed in the back, and the beginning of a long, dangerous climb back to the top. The only problem is, life and death in the protagonists virtual world take on a whole new meaning. There are other great reviews for this book that are more comprehensive, so check them out!
