Review from Life Reset: A LitRPG Novel →
This is one of those books where I sincerely believe that it could have worked better without the LitRPG elements. This isn’t to say that the LitRPG doesn’t work. It is cool as hell, but I think that this would have actually been more powerful as a straight up fantasy novel. It is one heck..
an interesting story that left me wanting more. While I was listening I also thought about how I would handle things in his situation leaving me very invested in this story.
I did not enjoy this story. the language was very one dimensional, the editing should have helped to clean that up but it did not. narrators did a good job. maybe I hated it so much because the author seemed to think it was clever to combine company names “Walmacey’s, Uberlyft” GTFO. I don’t like..
Loved this book!! It was a great story with soo many great voices from the narrator. He does an amazing job and the story has very funny moments with some grat dramatic m9ments as well. This is a book worth listening too!!!
Jeff Hayes is a fucking MASTER! The book is awesome but it turns into something completely off the scale with him reading and soundbooth adding the sound effects. So pissed I already finished it.
I initially wasn’t sure I would enjoy a book entirely about an MMO. But the way it’s written is fantastic! If I had one complaint it’s that listening to a narrator individually list the entire stat sheet of 4 identical Goblins in a row is interminably slow and boring.
This is a good book, that kept me listening far later than I should have stayed awake. The writing is solid, and all around impressive for a debut novel. If you like Fantasy or LitRPG you won’t regret your purchase of this title. I’d recommend it most for fantasy readers who have some experience with..
