I will give it to the author, they had an interesting approach here. the characters are just distinctly uninteresting. The protagonist is a crossover between The Doctor and every evil wizard you’ve ever read, which doesn’t make him very compelling in my book. Most other characters are flat without much going on for them.

I loved how sometimes there would be laughter over talking or such really drew me into the story like I was there and Carl was really talking to me
Corny humor and unoriginal story. Don’t waste your time on this. The narration is excellent though. As far as the content of the story, it’s lame.
