Hell’s Rejects Chaos of the Covenant, Volume 1 By: M.R. Forbes Narrated by: Jeff Hays This is a great start for a new series! The wild, wild space with bandits, corrupt officals, prisons worse than hell, and the ultimate jail breaks! The action, adventure, scary and unique characters, and wonderful plot has me hooked already..
I really enjoyed reading this book, I read and listen to a lot of litRPG and this one definitely stands out something special I’m definitely looking forward to something else by this author
The kitsune saotome was the books major redeeming feature. I very much prefer to forget the ending and what it means for the rest of the authors series.
great story, I really hope the next one comes out soon! I am looking forward to finding out who Augustus is supposed to be. The blue haired chick really needs to tone it down though. Way to loud and overactive. hurt my ears when she yelled and everything doesn’t have to be a freaking anime..
The story was interesting as a whole but the beginning and the end were not executed well. In the beginning Orin wasn’t made an appealing character and didnt have anything to make us care about him. In the end for being protrayed as a very intelligent man and immersed in the game, he didn’t solve..
Charles Dean knows how to keep up the pace and still give his characters the time to develop and grow. I really enjoyed the new characters, Jade and Maedbhbd (whatever). The former being a welcome “fourth wall”-breaking bit of comic relief; the latter being a mysterious, murderous leader of an army of shapeshifters. Jeff Hays..
I was enjoying the story but I had to stop listening. I’m not sure if it was the equipment used but there is an awful echo that I just couldn’t stand anynore.
I loved the book, great continuation of the last two! the only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars are the stupid growling random snarling sounds when ever Mave spoke! I feel it wasn’t needed and sounded awful.
Review from Fortress of Shadows: A LitRPG and GameLit Adventure →
It’s nice to delve a bit more into other characters and prepare us perhaps to focus on some others (more Hailee to come?), and beyond that this book hits on all the high notes of the first. It builds on some hints dropped in the first book, culminates a few thread lines and moves further..
