It Was a Blast
Review from Dungeon Crawler Carl →
Jeff Hayes was the perfect narrator for this book and did an awesome job. This was a very entertaining listen!
i love the combination of ai, game mechanics, raunchy humour and dnd creatures. cant wait to hear the rest of the series. ive read many books and it may be the first im leaving a 5 star review.
Genuinely a masterpiece I’ve been looking at audiobooks for so long trying to listen and make it through and I usually leave them halfway. I am so addicted. I’m hobgoblin bombing my way through these. Carl, Doughnut, Mongo, Mordecai. Love everything about this the narrator is insanely good.
Fantastic series and book. Everything just keeps getting better, more dramatic, and funnier. I’ve never laughed out loud so many times at a book and a lot of that is thanks to the superb voice acting.
50% of this was fluff explaining in extreme detail everything and why they did something. This book would be considered a two chapters in a normal book. Also, the voice of the mimic was too jarring for me. Maybe something a little less extreme would have been better.
Have you ever tried explaining a drug induced euphoria? Have you ever juggling live grenades while bouncing on one leg? That’s Dungeon Crawler Carl. One cannot simply explain this masterpiece of debauchery; one must experience it. The story starts slow, but trust me when I say..WAIT. Give it a bit and you’ll surely fall under..
I just got done doing “He Who Fights with Monsters” and was looking for a similar type. I have listened to this series three times in the last few months and will likely binge again in the near future. I’ve recommended this book to friends and coworkers, and hopefully many more so the author can..
