just a straight up and down, red-blooded, tasty hamburger and a beer kind of audiobook. would recommend to just about anyone except boomers who wouldn’t get the technology and game references, and people who don’t enjoy moments of sharp tragedy played for comedy.
Wonderful story, wonderful narration. I went into this series expecting it to be terrible, two months later I am through all the books. Just fantastic.

Funnest books you’ll ever read if you’re at all into video games or dnd. First books I’ve ever read or listened to where i was literally hanging on every sentence and couldn’t wait for what came next. I finished all 7 that are out in the span of 3 weeks listening to them every minute..
I had no idea this genre was a thing until Audible suggested this book to me. I was somewhat suspicious, given the zany cover art, but boy am I glad I gave it a try. This literally had me cackling in the car, actually making me hope my commute could be longer to listen more…
I’m totally addicted to this series, now. It’s a stupendous blend of irreverence, chaos, macabre violence, hilarity, parody, melancholy, tension, epic battles, and loot.
Loved the story and how the narration enhanced the story. Thoroughly enjoyed, so much I’ve bought the next book and look forward to listening to it.
