Loved the AI and other voices! Carl sounds a bit egocentric. Which he is not. Otherwise love it!

Despite Audible’s tags for this thing. the book is not witty, funny, satirical, or “feel-good”. It can hardly be called “literature”. The “book” reads as if it was written by an socially awkward teenager, one that would later in life definitely turn into a maniac of one sort or another. It’s a collection of very..
SF novel that spends most of its time educating the reader on religion. The question of what to do if all-powerful aliens decide to take an interest in Earth is not answered, unless the answer is grin and bear it. Main character is a weasel (apologies to actual weasels), which gets pretty tiring.
I’m VERY MUCH enjoying this series so far. The first was a great introduction to the world and characters, and the second book continues that momentum forward, becoming a compelling read that I devoured as voraciously as a mimic might his prey. It was great while it lasted. We were given eight or nine excellent books so eventually the author had to run out of good ideas. This edition was pretty lame and I ended up listening to the last quarter in fast-forward just to get it over with sooner.
What started off as a promising series by now transferred into a very unpleasant collection of used up tropes lacking humor, subject matter expertise, or even basic storytelling structure.
I enjoy this series thoroughly, whether it’s the writing, the humor, Jeff and Annie’s amazing voiceovers. It’s always a treat when a new audiobook comes out 🤩
I love the sarcastic stories and characters Dinniman is great at writing. Definitely low brow like me.
Amazing and wonderful new angle, the RPG. Original and entertaining to the last I cannot wait for the next book.❤️🖖🥰
