Much of Matt denneman’s work is excellent, this is no exception.Highly recommend this ine and done story.
Fun concept and great start but theres a complete lack of suspense. Mordecai always goes on about how dangerous one boss/ enemy/ floor or another is, Carl and Donut proceed to breeze through no problem… It never feels like Carl and Donut are in danger, ever.
Narration is what pulled me into this book so far that I couldn’t stop listening! The voices were so good and really brought every character to life!!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. it’s quirky and irreverent humor will make you laugh as no cow is sacred and plenty of beef is on the menu. However, it was the surprising depth and variety of the universe that really drew me in and had me avidly burning through each..
still another amazong book but i did not enjoy the confusion going on, made book feel like it was dragging on having to explain so much about the level while so little happend compared to the other levels.
Don’t worry there’s only one at the end and I absolutely loved it. It was funny and sounded legit listen till the very end lol
‘oh yea, let’s make one of our main side characters a man, fuse it with a tiger and him be a catgirl maid. But hes still a butler and everyone refers to him with he/him pronouns!! hehe isn’t this a funny joke he likes fashion and dresses. Let’s name him alex so it’s extra gender..
Further proof of amazing sci-fi storytelling, not just litrpg (IWKYM). Like Neal Stephenson, Dinniman effortlessly weaves an incredible amount of topics into one book.
Matt Dinniman does it again. Genocide, consequences of unrestricted AI usage, xenophobia, and currently relevant sociopolitical concepts are addressed with dark humor and genuine emotion. Dinniman is a master at establishing the human consequences in the most absurd scenarios and Operation Bounce House is proof of this. Some of the humor is similar to Dungeon..
