Audio experience is outstanding but 80% of the book is whining and bickering, so if you love that you’re in for a treat. Author introduces a really fun and novel concept about 1/4 of the way into the book then almost immediately removes it from play; maybe the beat example of many baffling and disappointing..

10/10 would listen to Donut singing songs again. I love the ends almost as much as the main story and Jeff does an amazing job at doing everyone’s voices.
I have never had any audiobook with audio effects such as the underwater, god voices, etc be added in and it makes the story sooo immersive and enjoyable to listen to, it really aids in the imagination of the world. Story gets better and better, never feels repetitive. Carl went total badass at the end..

I normally get really annoyed with audiobook and narrators for a host of reasons but this guy did a spectacular job. The story was witty and ridiculous in the best way.I can’t wait to read the next one.
A perfect 10/10 with wit, humor and an explosion of original creativity. This is a must read that puts Terry Pratchett, Piers Anthony and Douglas Adams to shame.

Great vivid and intoxicating writing, narration, and varied character voices. Had to buy the next 6 books immediately. You won’t to stop listening either. This is a D&D meets End of World meets Running Man. You will laugh, a lot, so be careful when eating or drinking while listening.
