This book did a great job of balancing the both the absurdity and seriousness of the situation, You get more depth from Carl and more hilarity from Donut and Samantha
Balanced as hell and does some of the greatest work in pacing and building momentum of moments. You feel like nearly everyone is in mortal danger and wonder how they can possibly survive. DCC is so good. Sad that we caught up to the latest release, it means that we have to wait the full time until the next one. Jeff Hayes is an amazing narrator.
If you love RPGS, dungeon Crawlers, or DND then you’ll LOVE this. At first the narrator sounding like Patrick Warburton threw me off, but I came to accept it, and ended up LOVING this book.

The narration is top tier. Writing is great: I laughed so many inopportune times while walking by strangers 🤣. Campy, sincere, exciting, and even thought provoking sometimes. Really enjoyable book.
