Not sure what I expected but after a couple chapters you could start to pick up on how the letters told the story of the main character.
Initially I found it tricky to keep track of the characters and dates but that soon became easier as you get to know each person and the reason for their correspondence.
An interesting method to write a book using correspondence. The voices in the Audible version were great and really made you feel like you knew the characters Sibil was an interesting person with many layers to her life. It is a bit heartbreaking while it also explains how we can be affected from the time..
A summation of humanity. Love, grief, parenthood, and friendship. Pure perfection. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Interesting story line and great narration. The over use of the word “reproach” drove me nuts but other than that, it was a great listen!
One of my favorites! Best story and narration! I’ve never listened to a book done in this format and I almost didn’t think I was going to be able to get through it; however, I continued and grew very interested in each of the characters and found myself anxious to hear what was coming in..
What a book and a journey this was. Takes the audience thorough time and depths. Beautifully written and narrated. Warmly and greatly recommended.
It is rare I finish a book on Audible not thinking I would have preferred to read it with my own imagined voices for the narration. In this case, the narration and performances here leave me only wanting to listen to this wonderful story.
I laughed and cried the heart and spirit poured into the correspondence, has me thinking about breaking out pen and paper again!
