This book really surprised me, I enjoyed more than I could have managed. Beautifully written and voices really helped connect me to the characters. Beautifully tragic, left me in tears of both mourning and a feeling of completion.

Such a wonderfully written book. A life’s story written in letters. Complicated, yet ultimately so simple. Highly recommended!

If you are a liberal rich white woman you will love this. Not so much otherwise. This book is a collection of fictitious letters.

A wonderful tale of readers and the lost art of writing, enveloped in great character development and a sad but moving tale of family and friends

Love the stories interwoven between the various letters. Well written about beautiful connections between the main character and various people throughout her life.

This book is like a mosaic with letters as the tiles. A somewhat stiff older woman gradually unwound herself as she dealt with her past, and some surprising turns of events in her last years.

Because the end brought this whole story together, I did end up liking it. I love a book that I just can’t put down, and this was by NO MEANS that book!! I don’t understand the hype surrounding this book. I kept waiting for the story to start but it never did. Just didn’t get it.

I couldn’t stop listening to this. Beautiful story put together so cleverly and narration was another level! Brilliant!

There are some books that should be listened to. This is one of them. I’m tempted to listen again. Beautiful.
