This book took a while for me to get invested. I did in the end enjoy Sybil and wanted to know more about the other characters. it is not a feel good story and weighs heavily on my thoughts; however I would recommend it.
Excellent character voices! Well woven life story using only correspondence. Exceptionally sensitive treatment of an adopted persons internalization of the mishap and secrecy of their birth story. Tragically heartwarming story.
The characters were lovely – well done! Rarely do I prefer an audio version of a novel but this time I did! A beautiful simple story woven into a beautiful tale of life, family, love, and loss.
Insightful. Resonating. So well written. The Narrators were superb. I know I will think about this book forever.
The Correspondent was amazing. Unexpected and in no way predictable. The conversations were authentic and the ending well executed. So glad I had this experience.
This was slow going at first but became an absolutely beautiful story. Love the characters. Highly recommend.
It is a thoughtful and compelling story of an ordinary person who is not really ordinary. Did not want this book to end.

This is an excellent book…the best I’ve read in a long time. The author used a clever literary device of the main character Sybil’s correspondence to gradually reveal the layers of her personality, psyche, self-protective defenses, loves, and more as she slowly loses her sight, as her heart grows to be more reflective and honest,..
Excellent book to listen to. Enjoyed the different individuals who narrated the parts. I cannot wait to share this with my Bookclub.
