It seemed like random rambling of person under the influence of drug. Chemistry part was interesting. 50% of the story was Ursula obsessiveness. And all of a sudden abruptly she is dropped. Not terrible, but not great, 2.5 stars. There were so many characters introduced all at once. I had a hard time keeping track of who was who, who was related by blood and who was related “by heart-strings” (one of my favorite quotes from the book), and who was what age. A lot of petty..

One of the worst books I’ve ever attempted to read. Too many characters and all of the voices sound the same. If I could rate it with no stars I would.
Written 32 years ago yet is critically important to revisit or – as I did – visit it for the first time. Especially the final chapter.
