Magnificent book, cast members and so glad I listen at this point of my life. Eighty-five and counting.
This book broke me open. The first bit was slow going, but after several chapters I was enthralled. I found much of the story to be utterly devastating and would often weep while listening. If you enjoy stories that are fully immersive in which you feel as though you truly know the main character—this book..
Loved this! Made me want to take up writing letters to friends. Kind of slow, but still a good listen.
Loved everything about this book! I loved the characters, relationships and the format if how it was written.
Loved it. Cried and laughed and enjoyed. So very clever to expose the characters and plot points in the indirect way of letters
Interesting and enlightening about what a handwritten letter can mean to those who receive it. Her friendship circle was both small and large at the same time.
The story started out very simply and a little bit monotonous, but as she dug deeper into the chapters and the letters and the way that she was able to write versus speak was so familiar to me. Even the task of writing seems so beautiful. And all of the relationships and stories were heartfelt…
It surprised me … didn’t like it at first but it drew me into her world. It was both fascinating and sad…transported me.
