It was slow to begin, but got going quickly. I too am a 71 year old woman, and kept yelling at her not to get taken. I like that in the they got her money back. I’d love a sequel.

A great loving and sad but feel good book! No one is perfect but everyone has a way forward!

It starts slow but don’t give up. This is a beautiful and powerful story that will stay with me!

excellent writing..I did not want the book to end..of course the booked did.I read The Correspondent early in the morning..for 2 or 3 hours each day until I finished The Correspondent 4 days. ( read here an there if I had a few minutea).well done.

Evans hit a homerun with this one – a deftly written story that keeps you wanting to know more, and the narrators were splendid. It’s also a paean to great books and a vivid depiction of how each person has their unique cards dealt to them in life. Definitely recommend.

What a beautiful way to get to know a person, a whole group of people.

I loved the concept of telling a story through letters, I loved the characters. The humanity that was displayed through each of the characters was brilliant.

Clarity of reading by readers portraying various characters is excellent. One feels as if one knew the people depicted throughout the novel.

This novel tells the life story of an accomplished woman through her correspondence with others and their letters to her. It is interesting from the start, but becomes more intriguing and powerful as it continues. I wasn’t ready for it to end yet.
