The main character is not terribly likable. Since the whole book is her letters, her stilted language became a bit wearing. The story seamlessly connects the characters, events) large and small) over a lifetime. All developed in letters. I loved the characters. I’m not sure if my age (75) biased my opinion. I could relate. Definitely my favorite read this year.
