This was a solid sequel, and the audiobook was another quick listen. Lies and betrayals started early in this book, and I was heartbroken for Robin with the reveal we get with Erix pretty early on in the book.

From that point, Robin goes pretty scorched earth with his revenge plan, and this created a bit of a whirlwind for the plot of this book. Not quite what I would have expected for the new King of Icethorn Court, but I’m always here for the drama. 😂

I did enjoy the introduction of Duncan in this one, and I’m interested to see how his character arc plays out. I’m still holding out hope for a positive arc for Erix as well, so fingers crossed for that!

We got more action in this one, as well as some plot twists along the way. The end left us on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I’ll definitely be diving into the third audiobook soon to see what happens next.
