I enjoyed this one, and the audiobook was a quick listen. This MM fantasy was full of many of the usual romantasy tropes that we all know and love.
The book starts off with plenty of action right from the beginning, and we get some more throughout as well. I’ve been loving some good betrayals recently, and this one doesn’t fail to deliver on that.
Poor Robin seems to go through it as he’s thrust into the world of courtly politics, and I do wish some of the other characters would explain a little more about what’s going on to him at times. I think both he and I needed that occasionally throughout the book!
The narrator for the audiobook wasn’t my favorite, but I found I did eventually get used to his narration as I continued to listen. Speeding up the audio definitely seemed to help this as well!
