This is one of the earliest romance books and OG romance author that I would read in my late teens. Amanda quick’s prose is so good, and I love the narrator for this book. I can’t wait for the books ravished and rendezvous to come out as audiobooks. Literally just such a good romance book. Her characters are pretty similar from book to book (at least for her earlier romance books), but I always love the premise and I always love the characters. The FMC is usually a quirky, not exceptionally beautiful, but very smart, very sweet, and very innocent that melts the MMC’s hard interior/exterior; and the MMC is usually a very brooding, severe rich man that only shows love and affection to the FMC type of vibe. I love that vibe. If you’ve never read an Amanda Quick book, this is one of the ones to start with. Spice is there, yet tame, but oh the romance! So worth it!!
