There isn’t a dopamine hit, if that’s your jam. It is a good story, but a bit overdone in this genre. Not the fault of this author, I think this series predates plenty of the others.
Seems there’s some subtle product recs buried in here too, which is a bit annoying to wonder if I’m being sold something while reading.
Having said all that, if you’re not a frequent reader of post apocalyptic fiction you’ll likely enjoy.
If you are, the storyline gets tired by book 3-4.
