The card system was a terrible touch. I thought the trains were a bad touch, but after listening to this book, I welcome the trains back in every book. it felt much slower throughout the entire thing. im not sure how others rate it so high. I listened to more than half of the book on x1.5 just to get through it. I never played Pokémon or yu-gioh (spelling), but played Magic the gathering for years, and I still felt it was out of touch for me and my liking.
best parts: background of Carl’s dad, step mother, and Asher. Also, the crab and the dead baby seals in the last 2 hours of the book.
