This was my third book by this author, but my first time experiencing one of her books as an audiobook. I actually read along while listening because I wanted the full experience, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The male narrator did an amazing job. I was genuinely impressed by his range and ability to create distinct voices for different characters. He brought so much personality to the story, and I especially loved his portrayal of the psychiatrist. Even the accents felt natural and added another layer to the listening experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but he completely exceeded my expectations.
As for the story itself, it was fantastic. I’m an absolute sucker for a survival romance, and this one did not disappoint. Watching Vincent’s transformation throughout the book was one of my favorite parts. The contrast between who he was before the crash, who he became immediately after, and the man he was by the end of the story was incredible. He experienced so much growth that he felt like a completely different person by the final chapter—not just with a new outlook on life, but with an entirely different mindset. He truly stepped into being a man in every sense of the word.
I also loved Ariana’s journey. It was so satisfying to watch her finally receive not only what she needed, but what she had been searching for all along in a partner. She found that in Vincent, and seeing their relationship develop through everything they endured made the payoff that much sweeter.
Overall, this was a beautiful story filled with growth, resilience, and romance. Between the compelling characters, the emotional journey, and the excellent audiobook narration, this was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end.
