A thriller, an edge of your seat yes! Espionage, yes! Political and historical, yes. I did not know much about Syria. Intertwined in all it is also a romance. This was well pointed out by Proctor in the end. Amazing story and narration.

Connor Brown isn’t one of my favorite narrators and made me wish for true dual narrators when he was doing female voices. I felt like I never could get into the story and wasn’t invested in the characters. I liked the premise, but the execution left a little to be desired. It was okay though.

The author has painted some of the characters and experience with a complicated cast of antagonists that manage to collide in a story that is on par with some of the classic authors from the cold War period. Great story.

This book was a fun adventure. It moves quickly from story to story. Some are touching, others funny, while others are filled with emotion. My favorite audiobooks are ones like this that I can get into without spending hours trying to keep up. The man reading has an edge. My favorites are the darker ones..
A great cast, an interesting horse motif, and a plot that sounds justifiably plausible! I think I may have enjoyed Damascus Station a bit more, though this a strong follow up.
