The narrator’s voice is to soft. It is like a grandma reading Christmas stories for her grand kids. It was very distracting at first.
The story was very intricate and any number of characters could have been the murderer.

Horrible. I skipped to the final 5 or 6 chapters to find out the killer. Strange use of descriptive language and metaphors. Slow, dragging story. Far too many shallow, unlikable, unnecessary extra characters. Cliches: cruel power-hungry boss, shady politicians, deadbeat dads, drunk cops, rebellious teenagers. Bleh. This book is terrible. It’s one of these dumb ways to make money AI books. My brother said he was listening to an awful book. And I mentioned I was too. He said if it’s about an artist on an island stop listening it doesn’t get any better. He was right. Don’t give money to..
It did not feel like a Variation in the style of Jane Austin. All characters including Elizabeth and Darcy felt like strangers. I did not enjoy anything about it.
I liked the story very much. However, it was a strain to understand because of the thick Gaelic accent. I would prefer a different narrator.
I don’t enjoy descriptive language, similes and metaphors being over used . I feel like I’m reading a Year 6 piece of writing ticking all the boxes!
