It lost a 5 star rating only because the narrator gives the characters a weird inflection in the cadence of their speech. At first it’s ok but then it starts to grate when almost EVERY character talks in the same way. But ignoring that it’s a great imersive book.

Half the performance must be reference citations seeming at the end of almost every sentence. Impossible to establish a flow of listening, and the most annoying performance I have ever tried to listen to. Horribly stupid decision to do this in an audiobook.

This man’s memoir is better than the movies. Talk about grit. Great stories and story telling. I really enjoyed listening to Glennis’s perspective and experiences as well. My only complaint is sometimes they blow past the details of some very wild stories. Otherwise an adventure to read/listen to

It seems like the world has spun off its axis recently this book helps put things in perspective.

Feels so much more adult and Finn is a much much deeper character, onto my second listening in 12 months. Great story Happy was super as well. Series is improving not sliding.

A masterwork of fiction (not praise I usually give out), brought to evocative life by a narrator at the top of his game. This novel is more than a little unusual in its construction but if you enjoy Cthulhu Mythos short story collections this is definitely worth a listen.

This had a completely different plot than what I was expecting! And had me on edge until the very end!

In the foreword, the author says that there’s some language, and says nothing too over the top. This is a gross understatement. I was expecting “lowercase” cursing. While there’s plenty of that, there are also frequent f-bombs, and constant use of “god’s be damned”. It seriously detracts from the story, the excuses that it fits..

My new favorite LitRPG next to Ascend Online! Loved it! It’s such a unique take, the description kind of made me cringe and think it could be “edgy dark” but I was totally wrong. I’m so glad I gave this book a chance, I can’t wait to binge the rest of the series.

There has never been a book or a series that has built within me such a deep love for world building and character development. Travis is truly a master.
