A day by day, unit by unit recount of the last 5.5 weeks of WW II in Austria. The sheer immense amount of research behind this is absolutely astounding. No military history or WW2 buff should miss this.
I found this book to be more fulfilling and interesting than the second of the trilogy. Not only does it eventually add in characters from the main story but it also adds in characters from one of the side stories. Truth be told the start was slow in my opinion but it rapidly picked up..

This was a wonderful history of a truly great American. A man that was self made through his dedication to his nation, brothers in arms and family. A very inspiring story that all can benefit from.

Overall, it was a good book. However, like in book 2, the dungeon was a real drag. It was much shorter than in book 2, I’ll give you that. I just don’t appreciate the EXTREMELY long explanations of the puzzles they are facing, their thought processes, their summing up of what they just talked about..
