And the first wasn’t very good. I enjoyed Jason’s story which is why I gave this series a chance. But this one is boring, and I don’t like the main character. Not really any redeeming qualities.

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. There was significant progression to the various arcs and world building. I had been removed from my enjoyment on multiple occasions when I began to tire of the phrase “even as”, as well as the somewhat overwrought “woe is me” navel gazing.
