Finally- Frank’s solo debut, and he knocks it out. his journey to get as powerful as his friends and expand his current abilities leads to a short but intense side quest. there are even a few interesting hooks that seem like they’ll play a major part in future books (so yeah, definitely a suggested read).

if I had to phrase my review in tabletop terms to avoid some spoilers…this book is a constant exercise of the dm (author) rolling criticals and player (Jason) rolling critical saves. while the extremes make for an entertaining read, it’s also frustratingly far from realistic.
Frank is one of my favorite characters and I’ve been waiting for him to get his time to shine. I really love the emphasis this series takes on the actual RPG mechanics and their importance. Good read for character progression and I can’t wait for more.

I knew nothing about this book but it was on sale so I purchased it. I’m glad I did. A good murder story. Alittle surprise and well written.
