This might be a bit of a spoiler: Rosemary’s Baby meets Pet Semetary , Now you know the whole story. Maybe you could read those books instead. Shame. I like some of Malfi’s other books.
the hippie is a pretty lame character. just didn’t seem to fit. apart from the hippie, excellent book

It fell victim to the annoying trope where drama is induced because characters refuse to talk like normal people/adults. So secrets build, and unnecessary drama is caused. There is enough going on in this book otherwise that this trope could, and should have, been avoided.

I loved the story once I got passed the narrator. I ended up speeding up the narrator by 1.20 and I was able to enjoy it much better. I returned the first book and ended up forcing my self through it then I was hooked on the storyline. Book 3 here I come!
I feel like I’ve been waiting for over a year for this book to come out. was totally worth the wait, and the progression is definitely allowing for a much longer series to be continued.
The book begins with the anatomy of a neuron and goes on to functional MRIs. It discusses the importance of genes in schizophrenia, depression and autism. Dr Kandel relates how psychotherapy can be helpful and even re Route neural pathways. All in all a wonderful book.
Travis Bagwell is one of the few authors I feel a joy toward any book he writes. while a different genre, i am reminded of Jim Butcher regarding consistency and quality.
This series is getting better and better. I wish for more and hope this series never end. I love it and for a first time author, this is extremely well done and the fans has been amazing.
